Add-on to bronchoscopy Z327 when a foreign body is removed through the bronchoscope. Only payable with Z327.

What it covers

E632 is an add-on to Z327 (flexible or rigid bronchoscopy, with or without bronchial biopsy, suction or injection of contrast) for removal of a foreign body during the bronchoscopy (P9). It carries prefix #, so premises and equipment are not included (P9, SP1).

Billing rules

• Payable only with Z327 (P9).
• When bronchoscopy is done with laryngoscopy or oesophagoscopy, only the bronchoscopy is payable (P9).
• Bronchoscopy by the same surgeon immediately after thoracic surgery under the same anaesthetic is not payable (P9).
• No other bronchoscopy service is payable with Z360, emergency rigid bronchoscopy for an obstructed airway in a patient who isn't intubated (P9).
• E622 can also be added to Z327 for any bronchoscopic procedure in a patient under 3 years old (P9).

• E622 for a patient under 3 years (P9).
• E846 when rigid bronchoscopy follows flexible bronchoscopy to treat a condition found on the flexible scope (P9).
