What it covers
F100 is open reduction of a femoral neck, pertrochanteric, intertrochanteric or trochanteric fracture using cannulated screws, pin/plate and screws, or intramedullary fixation with proximal and distal locking screws (N39).
Open reduction means treatment by closed intramedullary fixation or by an operation that exposes the fracture, and includes fixation by internal or external devices (N1). Open reduction of a hip fracture includes arthrotomy and/or removal of loose bodies if performed (N40).
