Explanation

Updated October 26, 2026

Zero-fee claim for the cervical screening preventive care bonus at 65% coverage. Appendix Q doesn't list FHO or FHN physicians for it.

What it covers

Q106A is the second tier of the cervical cancer screening cumulative preventive care bonus, claimed when 65% of the target population has been screened (AQ6). The other tiers are Q105A (60%), Q107A (70%), Q108A (75%), Q109A (80%) (AQ6).

The target population is enrolled patients with a cervix aged 25 to 69 inclusive on March 31 of the fiscal year, and the measure is cervical screening in the 66 months before that March 31 (INFOBulletin 260805). Appendix Q is information only, not part of the Schedule (AQ1).

Billing rules

  • Bill at zero (AQ6).
  • An individual physician can earn one annual bonus per preventive care category; claim the tier code for the coverage reached (OMA Q-codes guide p.15).
  • Eligible: RNPGA, BSM, GHC, SJHC, SEAMO and WHA physicians, and CCM and FHG physicians who meet the minimum roster size of 650 enrolled patients on March 31 of the bonus year, or 450 for new graduates in their first year in the model (AQ6; OMA Q-codes guide p.15).
  • FHO and FHN: the 2020 OMA guide listed them for this bonus, but Appendix Q no longer does, and the April 2026 FHO agreement gives FHO physicians only the influenza and childhood immunization bonuses (AQ6; OMA Q-codes guide p.16; Agreement p.65 §8.1).
  • The Q011A tracking code marks a patient as screened. The Q140A exclusion code removes patients who had a hysterectomy, are being tested for cervical disease that precludes routine screening, or aren't sexually active (OMA Q-codes guide p.7, p.18).
