- Code
- AP
- Description
- Paid per legislation. You may appeal to the General Manager
Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
OHIP paid this claim under the governing legislation. If you disagree, the Ministry's message says you may appeal to the General Manager.
What it means
Code AP appears on the Remittance Advice when the amount paid was set in accordance with legislation. The full message says the payment is in accordance with legislation and that if you disagree with it, you may appeal to the General Manager.
The code list doesn't say which provisions applied to your claim or how the appeal works.
How to fix it
- Compare the amount paid with what you billed and note the difference.
- If you think it's a processing error, send a Remittance Advice Inquiry (RAI) through eSubmit, or on form 0918-84, within 7 months of the RA date.
- If you disagree with the decision itself, the message says you may appeal to the General Manager. Ask the Ministry for the appeal process and keep the RA and your records.
Don't resubmit if
- The claim is already on the RA and you only disagree with the decision. Use an RAI, not a new claim.
How APEX handles it
APEX reads your error reports and remittance advice from MCEDT and lists claims rejected with this code in its Correction Centre for you to correct and resubmit. See how APEX works · Pricing
