What it means
EF7 means the Integrated Community Health Services Centre (ICHSC) fee billed requires a referring physician number, and the claim didn't have a valid one. The claim was rejected.
Common causes
- The referring physician number was left off the claim
- The referral number was entered in the wrong field
How to fix it
- Find the referring physician on the requisition or referral.
- Add their billing number to the claim.
- Resubmit. Resubmit within three months of the service date if you can. If that window has passed but the claim was first submitted on time, use the Ministry's stale-dated resubmission process.
