- Description
- Incorrect code for Ontario Works/ODSP eligibility
Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
EPP means the code doesn't match the patient's Ontario Works or ODSP eligibility. Use the code for the program the patient is on.
What it means
EPP means the claim used a code for the wrong income support program for this patient: Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP). The claim was rejected.
The Schedule's Appendix F has separate eye examination codes for patients aged 20 to 64: K065 for ODSP recipients and K066 for Ontario Works recipients (page AF1). Appendix F services aren't insured services; the Ministry pays them on behalf of other ministries.
Common causes
- K065 billed for an Ontario Works patient, or K066 for an ODSP patient
- The patient changed programs
How to fix it
- Confirm which program the patient was on for the service date.
- Change the code to the one for that program.
- Resubmit.
Don't resubmit if
- The patient was on neither program on the service date.
