Updated October 26, 2026
A pelvic exam with a speculum in the office is billed as the visit (A001A or A007A) plus the add-on E432A, $5.00. E432A can't be added when cervical screening (E430/E431) is billed that visit. In a general assessment the pelvic exam is part of the assessment, with no add-on.
| Code | What it is | Fee | When to bill it |
|---|---|---|---|
| E432A | Pelvic exam including speculum, outside hospital, to A001 and A007 | $5.00 | Add to A001A or A007A when you personally do a speculum pelvic exam outside a hospital or ICHSC. |
| A007A | Intermediate assessment | $44.55 | The usual base visit for a pelvic complaint. |
| A001A | Minor assessment | $26.80 | A brief visit focused on one problem. |

How to bill it
In the office, bill the assessment you did (A001A or A007A) and add E432A for the speculum pelvic exam (A4).
If you also collect a cervical cancer screening specimen at that visit, bill G365A + E430A instead; E432A isn't payable with E430, E431 or E542 (A4).
In a general assessment (A003), consultation or periodic health visit, the pelvic exam is part of the service; E432 only adds to A001 and A007 (A4).
Billing rules
- E432 is payable only with A001 or A007 in Family Practice (A4). Obstetrics and gynaecology can add it to A203 to A206 (A150).
