Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
Zero-fee tracking code showing an enrolled child has had all the recommended childhood immunizations, for the childhood immunization bonus.
What it covers
Q132A is the childhood immunization tracking code (OMA Q-codes guide p.7, p.18). Tracking codes mark a patient as having received a preventive service, which counts toward the physician's preventive care bonus percentage for that category (OMA Q-codes guide p.17).
It is not in the Schedule or Appendix Q. The source is the 2020 OMA Q-codes guide; the childhood immunization bonus itself is in Appendix Q and the April 2026 FHO agreement.
Billing rules
- Bill at zero. The remittance advice pays zero with explanatory code 30, 'this service is not a benefit of OHIP' (OMA Q-codes guide p.17).
- Submit it with your normal fee-for-service and premium billing (OMA Q-codes guide p.17).
- The bonus target population is enrolled patients aged 30 to 42 months on March 31 of the fiscal year, who must have had all Ministry-supplied immunizations recommended by NACI by 30 months of age (OMA Q-codes guide p.17; Agreement p.65 §8.1).
- Bonus tiers Q115A (85%), Q116A (90%) and Q117A (95%) of the target population are claimed at zero (AQ8-AQ9; Agreement p.65-66 §8.1).
- Eligible: FHN, FHO, RNPGA, BSM, GHC, SJHC, SEAMO, WHA, and CCM/FHG physicians who meet the minimum roster (AQ8-AQ9). For FHG/CCM that is 650 enrolled patients on March 31, or 450 for new graduates in their first year; FHO and FHN have no minimum (OMA Q-codes guide p.15).
- FHO: one claim per fiscal year under the childhood immunization heading, prorated for practices under 1,000 enrolled patients (Agreement p.65 §8.1, p.66 §8.2).
Often billed with
- A002 enhanced 18-month well-baby visit, for children aged 17 to 24 months (A4, GP34).
- G840, G841, G846 or other immunization codes for vaccines given at the visit (J54).
Common rejections
- VJ7: OHIP received the claim more than three months after the service date, so it was rejected as stale-dated (GP9).
