Billing rules
- Payable only for acute retention, change of Foley catheter or suprapubic tube, or instillation of medication (T8).
- Must be done personally by the physician (T8).
- Not payable with E751 (chemotherapy instillation at cystoscopy) (T7) or with Z610 (intravesical BCG or chemotherapy) (T8).
- A Z-code is an independent operative procedure: if your major pre-operative visit was in the past 12 months, only a minor assessment (family physicians) or partial assessment (specialists) is payable before it that day; if the major pre-op visit is the same day, no other assessment before it is payable (SP4 §13).
Common rejections
- ADH: OHIP describes this as 'Cannot be billed together': Z603 was billed with Z610 or E751, which it is not payable with (T7, T8).
