Description
Not paid after second review by Medical Advisor

Explanation

Updated October 26, 2026

A Ministry medical advisor reviewed the claim a second time and decided not to pay it.

What it means

Code 47 means the claim was not paid after a second review by a Ministry medical advisor (MA).

A second review usually means the claim has already been looked at once, for example after an inquiry. Resubmitting the same claim won't change the decision.

How to fix it

  1. Read any message on the RA that explains the decision.
  2. Check your records against the Schedule of Benefits requirements for the code.
  3. If you have new information that wasn't part of the review, contact the Ministry about how to send it.

Don't resubmit if

  • You have no new information. The decision stands.
  • You would be sending the same claim as a new claim.

How APEX handles it
