- 80
- Description
- Technical fee adjustment for hospitals
Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
OHIP adjusted the technical fee for a service done in hospital. Check the amount against the hospital rules.
What it means
Code 80 marks a technical fee adjustment for hospitals. The technical component of the service was paid at a different amount because it was provided in a hospital.
The Schedule has rules like this. For a listed set of diagnostic and therapeutic codes, the technical component done in hospital is paid at 86.10% of the T fee (General Preamble GP11).
How to fix it
- Check where the service was provided and the technical fee for the code.
- Check whether a hospital rule applies, such as the 86.10% rule in GP11.
- If you believe OHIP got it wrong, send a Remittance Advice Inquiry (RAI) through eSubmit, or on form 0918-84, within 7 months of the RA date, with your supporting details.
Don't resubmit if
- The claim is already on the RA. Changes to a claim on the RA go through an RAI, not a new claim.
