B7 — Comprehensive Virtual Care Service Already Paid
Virtual visit already paid
A comprehensive virtual care service was already paid for this patient, so this virtual service wasn't paid.
What to do: Compare it with the paid virtual claim; if they were the same encounter, there is nothing to fix.
- Code
- B7
- Description
- Comprehensive Virtual Care Service Already Paid
Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
OHIP didn't pay this virtual service because a comprehensive virtual care service was already paid for this patient. Compare both claims.
What it means
Code B7 means a virtual service was refused because a Comprehensive Virtual Care service was already paid for the patient.
Comprehensive Virtual Care is an Appendix J service given by video or phone to a patient with an existing relationship, billed with K300A or K301A (A66, A70). The Ministry's code list doesn't say which services conflict or over what period.
Common causes
- Two virtual claims for the same encounter
- A limited virtual care code (A101 or A102) billed for an encounter already paid as comprehensive virtual care
- A duplicate claim
How to fix it
- Compare the refused line with the paid comprehensive virtual claim: date, physician and reason for the visit.
- If they were the same encounter, there is nothing to fix.
- If they were separate, medically necessary visits, send a Remittance Advice Inquiry (RAI) through eSubmit, or on form 0918-84, within 7 months of the RA date, with supporting details such as your chart notes.
Don't resubmit if
- Both claims describe the same encounter.
- The claim is already on the RA and you only disagree with the decision. Use an RAI, not a new claim.
