Description
Adjustment of an earlier claim due to a provider registration update

Explanation

Updated October 26, 2026

EP marks a payment adjustment on an earlier claim, made because your provider registration was updated. Usually nothing to fix.

What it means

EP appears on the Remittance Advice (RA) when OHIP adjusts an earlier claim because your provider registration with the Ministry was updated. The adjustment can be a further payment or a deduction.

It is an accounting change on a claim that was already processed. It is not a new rejection.

How to fix it

  1. Find the original claim and compare the adjustment with it.
  2. Check that your registration details with the Ministry are now correct.
  3. If the adjustment looks wrong, send a Remittance Advice Inquiry (RAI) through eSubmit, or on form 0918-84, within 7 months of the RA date.

Don't resubmit if

  • The claim is already on your RA. A new claim for the same service will be treated as a duplicate. Use an RAI instead.

How APEX handles it

APEX reads your error reports and remittance advice from MCEDT and lists claims rejected with this code in its Correction Centre for you to correct and resubmit. See how APEX works · Pricing
