Insect venom desensitisation (immunotherapy), per injection, maximum 5 per day. A minor or partial assessment is payable once a day after the first.

What it covers

G205 is insect venom immunotherapy, billed for each injection (J4). Allergen hyposensitisation for other allergens is G202 or G212, and venom allergy testing is G199 (J4, J5).

Billing rules

  • Maximum 5 injections per day (J4, GP7).
  • After the initial major assessment only, a minor or partial assessment may be claimed once per day in addition to G205 when rendered (J4).

  • Payable on the same day as a counselling service by the same physician (GP58).
  • FHO: a Schedule 2 core (in-basket) service, and in Schedule 2A for long-term care enrolled patients (Agreement p.76, p.84).

Often billed with

  • A minor or partial assessment, such as A001, once per day after the initial major assessment (J4).
