What it covers

Team management in a Rehabilitation Unit is active in-patient rehabilitation management from the start of rehabilitation care, rendered by one physiatrist (A180).

H317 covers the thirteenth to twenty-sixth week, per visit (A180).

Billing rules

  • Maximum 3 per patient per week (A180).
  • If the same physiatrist gives part of the care in an active treatment hospital (C312, C317, C319) and part in the rehabilitation unit, the weekly and monthly limits apply to the total rehabilitation care; you cannot use up the C-code maximums and then start again under H312, H317 and H319 (A180).
  • Count weeks from the start of rehabilitation care (A180).

Often billed with

  • H313 rehabilitation counselling (A180).

Common rejections

  • AM1: OHIP describes AM1 as 'Service Limit Exceeded': more than 3 H317 visits for this patient in a week (A180).
