- Code
- 32
- Description
- Service(s) already claimed for this day
Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
OHIP already has a claim for services for this patient on this day. Check for a duplicate before sending anything again.
What it means
Code 32 means OHIP's records show service(s) on this day were claimed before for this patient, so this line was reduced or not paid.
It is close to code 35 (the same service claimed before) and code 36 (claimed by another practitioner, group or lab). With 32 the match is on the day: something already paid for that date limits what can be paid now.
Common causes
- The same visit submitted twice, for example resent before the first claim appeared on an RA
- Two claims for the same patient and day where the Schedule only allows one service that day
- A corrected claim sent for a visit that had already been paid
How to fix it
- Search your billing history for the same patient and service date.
- If the earlier claim covers the service, nothing more is owed.
- If you really provided separate services that day, check the Schedule of Benefits to confirm both are payable on the same day.
- If they are, send a Remittance Advice Inquiry (RAI) through eSubmit, or on form 0918-84, within 7 months of the RA date, with documentation of both services.
Don't resubmit if
- The earlier claim was paid for the same service.
- The claim is already on the RA. Changes to a claim on the RA go through an RAI, not a new claim.
How APEX handles it
APEX reads your error reports and remittance advice from MCEDT and lists claims rejected with this code in its Correction Centre for you to correct and resubmit. See how APEX works · Pricing
