OHIP is reviewing this claim. Don't resubmit; wait for the decision on a later remittance advice.
What it means
Code 56 means the claim is under review by the Ministry. No final decision has been made.
Sending the claim again doesn't help. The Ministry's Error Report message 27 says duplicate submissions are returned while the original is pending medical consultant adjudication.
How to fix it
- Wait for the outcome on a later RA.
- Send any records the Ministry asks for, and keep the chart ready.
- If the claim stays under review for a long time, contact the Ministry about it.
Don't resubmit if
- The claim is under review. A second submission will be returned as a duplicate.
