Code
EP2
Description
Not for Enrolment/ReEnrolment

Explanation

Updated October 26, 2026

EP2 means the claim can't be used for enrolment or re-enrolment. Check the enrolment code and the patient's current enrolment.

What it means

EP2 is one of the Ministry's patient enrolment error codes. It means the claim was not accepted as an enrolment or re-enrolment, so it was rejected.

Patients are enrolled (rostered) by billing an enrolment code such as Q200A, with the service date set to the date on the Patient Enrolment and Consent to Release PHI form (Schedule page AQ3; OMA Q-codes guide p.9 to 10).

How to fix it

  1. Check the enrolment code, service date and health number on the claim.
  2. Check whether the patient is already enrolled with you, or enrolled elsewhere.
  3. Correct the claim if needed and resubmit.

Don't resubmit if

  • Nothing has changed. Sending the same claim again will reject again.

How APEX handles it

APEX reads your error reports and remittance advice from MCEDT and lists claims rejected with this code in its Correction Centre for you to correct and resubmit. See how APEX works · Pricing
