- F3
- Description
- Previous reduction attempts allowed at 85%
Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
F3: an earlier reduction attempt on the same fracture or dislocation was paid at 85%. The final reduction gets the full fee. Usually correct.
What it means
F3 means OHIP paid a previous attempted reduction (open or closed) at 85%.
For repeat reductions of the same fracture or dislocation, the full benefit is for the final reduction and after-care. Earlier reductions by the same surgeon are paid at 85% (Schedule N2, rule 6).
How to fix it
- Check that the full fee was paid on the final reduction and 85% on the earlier attempt(s).
- If the reductions were for different fractures, or the wrong line was reduced, send a Remittance Advice Inquiry (RAI) through eSubmit, or on form 0918-84, within 7 months of the RA date.
- Otherwise, there is nothing to fix.
Don't resubmit if
- The claim is already on your RA. Use an RAI, not a new claim, if you disagree.
