- Code
- V47
- Description
- Fee not evenly divisible by number of services
Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
The fee billed doesn't divide evenly by the number of services. Correct the fee or the number of services and resubmit.
What it means
V47 ("Fee not Divisible") means the fee submitted can't be divided evenly, to the cent, by the number of services on the line.
This is a format check: the claim was rejected before OHIP assessed the service itself, so it usually pays once the field is corrected.
Common causes
- The fee was entered for one service while the number of services is more than one
- A rounding error in the total
- A typing error in the number of services
How to fix it
- Multiply the fee for one service by the number of services and check it matches the fee billed.
- Correct the fee or the number of services.
- Resubmit the corrected claim. Resubmit within three months of the service date if you can. If that window has passed but the claim was first submitted on time, use the Ministry's stale-dated resubmission process: one stale-dated claim file through MCEDT, then an email to [email protected] with the Error Reports showing the original submission date.
Don't resubmit if
- You haven't changed anything. Sending the same claim again will reject the same way.
How APEX handles it
