Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
VS3 means the clinic number on a SEAMO claim isn't valid. Correct it with the value your SEAMO setup expects and resubmit.
What it means
VS3 is one of a group of error codes (VS1 to VS6) for SEAMO claims. The Ministry lists it only as "Invalid Clinic Number".
SEAMO is the Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization, one of the alternate funding arrangements named in the Schedule's Appendix Q. Its claims carry extra fields that ordinary fee-for-service claims don't.
How to fix it
- Check the clinic number on the claim against the values set up for your SEAMO billing.
- Correct it and resubmit.
- If you are not sure which value is valid, ask the people who manage SEAMO billing for your department.
Don't resubmit if
- The clinic number has not been changed.
