Explanation

Updated October 26, 2026

Add-on to cystoscopy for electrocoagulation (fulguration) of bladder tumour(s).

What it covers

E781 is added to a cystoscopy when bladder tumour(s) are destroyed by electrocoagulation (T7).

Excision of tumour(s) including the base and adjacent muscle, with electrocoagulation if needed, is billed instead as Z632, Z633 or Z634 (T7).

Billing rules

  • Add-on to cystoscopy (Z606 or Z607) (T7).
  • Bladder 'E' add-ons are payable with any S or Z code under the Bladder heading, or with Z626 or Z628, unless noted otherwise (T6).
  • Age premium of 10–30% for patients under 16 (GP64).

Common rejections

  • AD8: OHIP describes this as 'Not allowed alone': this add-on must be billed on the same claim as its base procedure, such as Z606 (T6, T7).
  • ADF: OHIP describes this as 'Corresponding Procedure Invalid, Omitted or Paid at zero': the base procedure (Z606) was missing, invalid or paid at zero, so the add-on can't be paid.
