Description
Ventilatory support allowed with Haemodialysis

Explanation

Updated October 26, 2026

DH explains a payment: OHIP allowed ventilatory support together with haemodialysis for the patient. There is usually nothing to fix.

What it means

DH appears on the Remittance Advice (RA) when OHIP allows a ventilatory support fee together with a haemodialysis service. It explains why both services were paid. It is not a rejection.

In the Schedule of Benefits, ventilatory support in an intensive care area is billed with the per diem codes G405 (first day), G406 (days 2 to 30) and G407 (day 31 onward) (page J31). Acute haemodialysis is listed separately, for example G325 and G323 (page J37).

How to fix it

  1. Check the amount paid on the line against what you billed.
  2. If it was paid as expected, there is nothing to do.
  3. If you think the payment is wrong, send a Remittance Advice Inquiry (RAI) through eSubmit, or on form 0918-84, within 7 months of the RA date, with supporting details.

Don't resubmit if

  • The claim is already on your RA. A new claim for the same service will be treated as a duplicate. Use an RAI instead.

How APEX handles it

APEX reads your error reports and remittance advice from MCEDT and lists claims rejected with this code in its Correction Centre for you to correct and resubmit. See how APEX works · Pricing
