Enrolment type not eligible

Code
EQP
Description
Enrolment Type Not Eligible

Explanation

Updated October 26, 2026

EQP means the patient's enrolment type isn't eligible for this fee code. Check how the patient is enrolled and the code's rules.

What it means

EQP (Enrolment Type Not Eligible) means the fee code is limited to certain types of patient enrolment, and the patient's enrolment did not qualify on the service date. The Ministry gives no further detail for this code.

Common causes

  • The patient is not enrolled to you, or is enrolled under a type the code doesn't allow
  • The enrolment started after the service date

How to fix it

  1. Check the patient's enrolment status and type on the service date.
  2. Check the fee code's rules for which patients it may be billed for.
  3. If the patient qualifies, correct the enrolment record first, then resubmit. If not, bill a code that fits.
  4. Resubmit the corrected claim within three months of the service date. If that window has passed but the claim was first submitted on time, use the Ministry's stale-dated resubmission process.

Don't resubmit if

  • The patient's enrolment does not qualify for the code.
