Error code
EPC — Patient not rostered, or rostered to another network
Patient not rostered to you
OHIP shows the patient was not enrolled, or was enrolled to another group, on the service date, and this claim requires enrolment to you.
What to do: Check your latest roster report; if the patient signed the form, send or correct the Q200A first.
- Code
- EPC
- Description
- Patient not rostered, or rostered to another network
Explanation
Updated October 26, 2026
EPC means the claim needs the patient to be enrolled to you or your group, but OHIP shows them not rostered or rostered to another group.
What it means
Some services and premiums in patient enrolment models (FHO, FHN and similar) are only payable for patients enrolled to the physician or their group. 'Network' is the Ministry's older word for that enrolment group.
EPC means that on the service date, OHIP's roster had the patient either not enrolled at all, or enrolled to a different physician group. The claim rejects in full, so it isn't paid until it's corrected.
Common causes
- The patient was never enrolled, or their enrolment ended before the service date.
- The patient signed an enrolment form but the Q200A wasn't sent, or rejected (for example with EP1).
- The patient enrolled with a physician in another group.
- The service date is earlier than the enrolment date on file.
How to fix it
- Check your latest roster report for the patient's enrolment status and dates.
- If the patient should be enrolled with you and signed the form, send or correct the Q200A, then resubmit once it's accepted.
- If the patient wasn't enrolled to your group on that date, remove the codes that require enrolment and resubmit the rest as regular fee-for-service.
- If the patient is enrolled elsewhere, bill only services payable for non-enrolled patients.
Don't resubmit if
- The roster still shows the patient not enrolled to your group on the service date, and the claim still has enrolment-only codes.
- The patient is enrolled to another group and the service is only payable for your own enrolled patients.
How APEX handles it
Most EPC claims are listed under Outstanding for you to correct, since the fix depends on the patient's enrolment. For one group setup, APEX resubmits EPC claims unchanged, with the date of birth taken from a health card check. See how APEX works · Pricing
