Specific neurocognitive assessment: at least 20 minutes of testing memory, attention, language, visuospatial and executive function, done personally.
What it covers
K032 is an assessment of neurocognitive function rendered personally by the physician. It must test memory, attention, language, visuospatial function and executive function (A58).
At least 20 minutes, consecutive or not, must be dedicated exclusively to this service, including giving and scoring the tests, and it must be completed the same day (A58). Acceptable batteries include the short form of the Behavioral Neurology Assessment or the Dementia Rating Scale; the Mini-Mental State Examination (Folstein) is not acceptable (A58).
Billing rules
- Minimum 20 minutes dedicated only to the neurocognitive assessment, completed on one day (A58).

- Only one of K032 or K042 (extended assessment, 46 minutes, geriatrics, neurology and psychiatry only) is payable to the same physician the same day (A58).
